Clochan in An Ghairfeanaigh is a univallate rath on the eastern slopes of Sugarloaf hill, overlooking the steep glen where the Garfinny river flows. Two small clochauns abutted the inner face of the ringfort bank, one at the northeast and one at the south-southwest. The northeast clochan measured about 3.5 metres across internally, built of corbelled drystone that still stands seventy-five centimetres high on its surviving northwest half. A person may have sat inside that small stone chamber, watching the glen darken while the river noise filled the valley below.

Univallate rath KE043-179---- is situated on the E slopes of Sugarloaf hill, overlooking the steep glen through which the Garfinny river flows at this point. On the OS maps 2 clochauns (KE043-179001- & KE043-179002-) were marked in the interior. These abutted the inner face of the ringfort bank at NE (KE043-179001-) and SSW (KE043-179002-). KE043-179001- is more clearly defined. It was c. 3.5m in diameter internally but only its NW half can now be traced. The wall is of corbelled, drystone construction and stands to a maximum height of .75m. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey.
