Claggan Stone Enclosure beside Dermot and Grania's Bed — Report the wrong picture

Dermot and Grania's Bed is an oval stone enclosure beside the Claggan Court-tomb, joined to it by a straight wall that stops sixty centimetres short of the tomb. The gap is not an oversight; it is an invitation. A person could step through the completed circuit, touch the tomb wall, and return changed. The enclosure may have been a place where the living visited the dead without breaking the form of either world.

An oval area 75m SE-NW by 32m NE-SW enclosed by a low, grassed-over wall of loose stones revetted on the inner and outer sides by a loose row of small blocks. A 23m stretch of similarly constructed wall runs from the enclosure in a straight line towards the NW. It stops only .6m from the side of Claggan Court-tomb (DG015-005-). This wall and the enclosure wall are clearly of a single construction. They are 3m to 3.5m in width. The revetment edges are .4m high but the inner 'core' is slightly lower. There is a 2m gap in the enclosure wall to the SW. A ruined wall runs roughly NE-SW across the middle of the site. A ruined field bank meets the enclosure wall just N of the gap. There are a number of heaps of loose stones in the interior and some rock outcrop. The site is on a low rise at the SW of a plateau of high ground with steep fall to the S and W, in an area of light pasture.
