Slievenaglasha still holds a kerbed cairn where a central cist once stood, though by 1999 the chamber had vanished and only a robbed-out centre remained. Westropp wrote in 1913 that the cell was long since opened and still stood five feet inwards, large enough for a person to crawl into darkness. The stones may have swallowed a funeral, a hidden cache or a child’s reckless game, but the earth has kept that much from everyone.

Within a kerbed cairn (CL010-064065-). Westropp (1913, 247) noted a central cist ‘long since opened and partly filled; its cell is still opened for 5 feet [1.5m] inwards’.
