Six stones protrude slightly from a cairn on a rocky Clare rise, marking a narrow chamber that has watched Glensleade valley for generations. The cist sits within an old field system, suggesting people kept returning to this edge of the world rather than fleeing it. Perhaps they buried what they loved, hid what they feared, or simply remembered that death belongs as much to the landscape as birth does.
On a slight N-facing rise in rocky pasture, close to the edge of a limestone shelf to the N, overlooking Glensleade valley to the E, and within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL009-225----). In the S centre of a cairn (CL005-191----). A cist (int. dims. 2.9m N-S; 1.7m E-W) aligned N-S and defined by six sidestones protruding slightly from the body of the cairn. Two sidestones are visible on the E and W, with a single sidestone at N and S.
