What is recorded here

Two narrow cist chambers lie tucked inside one grassy cairn on the Burren plateau, their parallel slabs leaning northwest and southeast like closed doors. The first stretches 2.2m while the second waits immediately to the north, and two cashels stand nearby through the rocky pasture. People may have laid the dead beneath that turf long before the field walls marked the land, leaving a small dense place where memory, stone and sheep still share the slope.

In elevated rocky pasture, on an E-facing slope near the E edge of a large limestone plateau, overlooked by higher ground to the W and NW and within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL005-160001-). A cist (L 2.2m; Wth 0.3m) composed of two large parallel slabs orientated NW-SE and set within the SE quadrant of a grass-covered cairn (CL005-160048-). A second cist (CL005-160028-) is located immediately to the N within the same cairn. A cashel (CL005-160031-) is located c. 30m to the N and a second cashel (CL005-160033-) is locate c. 95m to the E. A small Neolithic or early Bronze Age stone cist, likely used for inhumation burial; its location within a multiperiod landscape highlights the long-term cultural significance of the area.
