The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Rectangular cist (1.05m NE-SW x 0.57m NW-SE) on old ground surface. Contained cremated remains of two individuals, rock crystal and quartz fragments, and bowl food vessel in NE corner (OKR 1984, 64-8).

Cist in Killinane is a small prehistoric stone burial chamber, likely dating to the Early Christian or Bronze Age period. Its significance lies in providing insight into early burial practices and funerary architecture in the region.
