Foynes Island holds a vanished cist burial, lost inside a long narrow field on its north side. It appeared during late nineteenth or early twentieth century work, then retreated from memory without marking the soil where it lay.

According to the landowner a 'cist burial' was discovered in one of the long narrow field on N side of Foynes Island some time in the late 19th/early 20th century. Its exact location is not known. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
