What is recorded here

A small rectangular slab-built cist (L 0.3m; Wth 0.2m; H 0.22m) was discovered in a sand pit in 1929 in 'Curratober'. It was aligned NE-SW. It contained the unburnt bones of a child less than one-year old and a vase (Hynes 1929, 141). (Waddell 1975, 13; 1990, 92). Not precisely located. Early Christian or prehistoric cist, likely dating to the 1st millennium BCE–1st millennium CE. Its significance lies in the burial of an infant and associated pottery, offering insight into early funerary practices in the region.
