What is recorded here

This record is listed in the SMR (1991) as a possible cist based on a reference to two ‘large slabs, each about 3ft square [0.9m]’, uncovered in 1935 by a local man while ploughing on top of a small hill on the E side of Ballina town (NMI Topographical Files). They were ‘visible just below the surface’, and were located about 30m from a stone-lined structure or possible burial (MA030-086001-), uncovered at the same time.
