CIST BURIALS: THE BURIAL GROUND, TROOPERSLAND (O.S. memoir site, unlocated) in West Division

Trooperland in County Antrim held cist burials from the prehistoric era, though the exact ground has slipped from modern knowledge. Men and women may have laid their dead in shallow stone boxes while troopers later marched above the bones, layering violence and memory on the same soil. The burial ground vanished into folklore and forgotten fields, but the dead remained trapped beneath the feet of the living, waiting for someone to remember their names.
