Monea holds a Bronze Age cist burial and cremation pit where human bones and fire debris still mark the earth. The site is scheduled, meaning the state admits the dead and their burners deserved protection long before modern law existed. A cist is a small stone chamber, but a cremation pit is a larger confession: somebody wanted the body returned to air and ash rather than hidden whole.
