Cian O'Connor

Cian O'Connor is a Dublin-born show jumper who turned a stripped Olympic medal into a bronze one and kept riding through four Games. He won Irish team honours at the Dublin Horse show, placed third individually in Gothenburg 2017, and withdrew his horse Kilkenny in Tokyo when the animal bled from the nose. The clearest line in his life is that he measured himself against other riders, not against the danger of losing.
