What is recorded here

In a large, mainly modern, graveyard close to seashore. A medieval parish church (WSW-ENE; L 13.42m, Wth 7.3m) dedicated to St Mac Dara. The doorway, in S wall, has on its inner face a chamfered round-headed arch and a hood-moulding with decorated terminals; outer face has been robbed since early 19th C (O'Flanagan 1927a, Vol. 3, 68, 79). There is a lancet window in E gable, a small chamfered window in S wall, and traces of a second doorway in N. No visible trace survives of 'Lackshinnagh Altar' (Leac Síothnach) shown on OS 6-inch map c. 80m to NNW.
