Church (in Ruins)

In pasture, on a N-facing slope overlooking a stream c. 70m to the N; on the W side of a graveyard (SL037-037002-). Fragmentary remains of a rectangular church (int. c. 18m E-W; 7m N-S). Only the W gable with short returns of the N and S walls (H c. 2m), and a short section of the E end of the S wall (H c. 1.2m), stand. Otherwise the lines of the N and S walls are defined by a scarped edge, and three large 19th-century grave-plots occupy the line of the E wall. The surviving walls (T 1.2m; max. H 2.5m) are built of coursed limestone blocks. The church is indicated as an L-shaped structure (20m E-W) on the 1838 OS 6-inch map. The remains of a castle (SL037-039----) lie c. 200m to ENE.
