Church in Ahane Beg

This possible church was referred to in the 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork - vol. 4 North Cork' (2000, 475) under the entry (no. 14061) for a burial ground (CO038-073001-). The reference to the possible church appears in the entry as follows: 'Bowman (1934, 299) recorded burial ground and church site on Mrs Murphy's land where 'four headstones from 9 to 28 inches high mark the sites of graves.' Exact location not known.' The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
