Banagher Old Church in Magheramore preserves a twelfth-century graveyard, St O'Heany's tomb, two crosses and three wells beside a man-made underground passage. The site belongs to the early Christian period and still holds the shape of a lived-in worship place rather than a dead ruin. People may have walked the passage at night, drawn water from the wells and buried their dead beside the tomb, believing the ground itself remembered them.
