CHURCH; GRAVEYARD; CROSS-CARVED STONES; Man-made underground passage in Drumeeny

CHURCH; GRAVEYARD; CROSS-CARVED STONES; Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

Beneath the Antrim earth, a hidden passage waits beside cross-carved stones and a forgotten graveyard. People may have dug it to escape storms, hide sacred things or leave the world behind. The crosses still mark death, but the tunnel suggests life kept moving when darkness closed the sky.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as CHURCH; GRAVEYARD; CROSS-CARVED STONES; Man-made underground passage. Recorded period: UNCERTAIN; E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
