What is recorded here

More than two hundred small stones still mark child graves inside a D-shaped bank in Galway grassland. They face east and west, waiting for dawn or remembering the route home. A low cairn of loose pebbles sits near the centre, as if someone kept returning to stack the place into shape.

In gently undulating grassland, c. 70m NE of td. boundary. A roughly D-shaped area (NW-SE 24.5m, NE-SW 24m) enclosed by an earthen bank with both an internal and external fosse. Within the interior, there are in excess of 200 small set stones indicating graves oriented E-W. Near the centre is a low cairn (L 2.3m, Wth 2m) built of loose limestone pebbles.
