Children’s Burial Ground in County Mayo is an oval mound beside a stream gully where small lives may have been laid to rest before modern records began. Its steep sides, visible stones and later commemorative slabs suggest people kept returning to mark and remember the place. The nearby hill and hidden passage add a chilling edge, as if the land itself helped conceal what the community chose to honour.

In pasture, located on an elevation bordered the S side of a stream gully, and overlooked by a higher hill on the N side of the stream. There is a Man-made underground passage (MA018-015----) in the hill c. 35 to NE. At this location there is an elongated, irregular oval-shaped hillock or mound (c. 10m NE–SW; c. 12m NW–SE; H 2m) with a narrow flattened top (max. dim. c. 2m) from which the sides slope steeply. Much stone is visible barely protruding from the sod cover on the mound. Set upright in the top of the mound is a stone slab with ‘Cilleen 2000 RIP’ inscribed on it.
