Childrens Burial Ground stands in rough pasture between Lough Derriana and Lough Namona, where a low drystone wall still marks the edge of a place set apart for the smallest lives. The name suggests children were laid to rest away from adult company, perhaps protected by distance or honoured in their own right. The valley head, two lakes and a river surround it, giving the site a closed, watchful shape. Even without knowing each child, the boundary wall makes the purpose clear: this ground was kept separate, deliberate and sacred.

Children's Burial Ground within KE090-005: This site is located in rough pasture almost midway between Lough Derriana and Lough Namona, at the head of the Cummeragh river valley. Subrectangular in plan, it measures 28.8m N-S x 49m E-W internally and is enclosed by a low rubble wall that is faced externally with coursed drystone masonry. This wall averages .8m in external height and 1.4m in basal width. An inturning of the wall-face at SW may indicate the location of the original entrance. A portion of the wall at E appears to have been rebuilt and a substantial amount of field clearance abuts it externally at NW. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
