Childrens Burial Ground occupies a low grass-covered mound beside a court tomb in County Mayo, where local memory claims unbaptised infants rested until the early 20th century. The place preserves a painful boundary: children denied church rites were still given earth, witness and a named address on the 1930 map. Its stones protrude through pasture like a sentence half-swallowed by grass, inviting wonder about the families who carried small bodies to that field and the quiet relief of burying what fear had excluded.

In a pasture field, located at a court tomb (MA039-050001-). Indicated on the 1930 OS 6-inch map as ‘Children’s burial ground’. According to local information, the court tomb was used as a burial ground for unbaptised infants, with the last burials taking place in the early 20th century. The court tomb is evident as a low grass-covered mound with large stones and boulders protruding from it or lying upon it. No clearly defined graves can be discerned.
