Children died young at Rathgorgin and the castle marked one grave with a rescued window stone. The small slabs still stand on the esker crest, waiting for the names that time erased.

On the crest of an esker ridge, c. 100m to the NE of Rathgorgin Castle (GA096-151----). This children's burial ground consists of a roughly oval unenclosed area (16.6m E-W; 10.9m N-S) within which numerous small upright limestone slabs are visible. The top mullion stone (GA096-150001-) of a trefoil-headed window, most likely from the tower house, marks one particular grave.
