Children died young in Springlawn and the community gave them a separate ground rather than mixing their small bodies with adult graves. That choice suggests love, fear or both, for children were never treated as ordinary cargo in human ceremony. The site remains a children's burial ground in County Galway, preserving the shape of that decision even when the names have left the memory of the town.
