What is recorded here
Kilcock’s old graveyard closed to most burials in August 1899, yet it kept receiving the smallest bodies. The ban did not empty the soil; it narrowed the soil’s purpose. Children still entered that ground, perhaps because adulthood could be denied while childhood could not.
According to Simms (1999, 185), the old graveyard in Kilcock (KD005-002002-) was closed for burials from August 1899, but despite (or perhaps because of) the closure, 'still-born' babies were buried there.
