What is recorded here

Clearing away the small set stones in the southeast sector of the Inchiquin ringfort did not erase the children's burial ground, because memory had already left its mark on the land. The stones may have been removed, but the purpose of the spot remained known in local tradition. That is why the place still matters: it records how a community marked childhood death and continued to remember it long after the visible stones disappeared.

In SE sector of a ringfort (GA041-033----). According to local tradition the CBG consisted of an area of small set stones, but these were cleared away a number of years ago. This may well be synonymous with the 'small spot formerly used as a burial place for children', mentioned in OS Letters (O'Flanagan 1927a, Vol. 1, 172).
