Children's burial ground in Eskeromullacaun

Eskeromullacaun on the E-facing slope of a Galway esker ridge is locally identified as a children's burial ground, though grass and bramble have erased every visible trace. The ridge curves like a cupped hand around the hidden place, suggesting the land itself once protected the smallest dead. People may have carried infants to that sheltered slope because the earth felt warm, serious and ready to receive what adults could not keep. Forgetting the location does not empty it; it simply returns the children to the ridge, where the amphitheatre still holds them without naming them.
