What is recorded here
Coolsuppeen holds a children's burial ground in County Clare, Ireland. The ground is marked as a formal monument, yet the children who slept there remain nameless in the available facts. They may have been infants taken by fever or birth complications, laid beneath soil that has since become forgotten. Their small bodies fed the grass while their stories disappeared, leaving only a category where lives should be.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
