Children died young in Carrownamaddra, and the community stopped wasting adult ceremony on tiny bodies. They chose a field east of the road, laid the small ones together, and left the ground open rather than closing it with heavy stones. The cross slab set into the western wall marks the edge of that choice: love expressed plainly, without display.

In pastureland immediately to the E of a N-S running road. According to local information a children's burial ground was located in this reclaimed field. Some loose stones are visible but there is no evidence of any set stones. A cross-inscribed slab (GA112-054002-) is built into the field wall at W.
