Carrigane’s children’s burial ground is a shallow rectangular mound barely sixty centimetres high beside a ringfort, yet it is where young lives were placed and forgotten. The land has been levelled until memory itself seems thinned, but the shape still holds its distance from the fort and the field. What was lost there may have been small, sudden and common enough that no one thought to name it.

This site is marked on the 1841-42 OS map as 'Kyle burial ground'. Though it is marked on the later edition map, it has no map designation. Today, this site has been much levelled, and all that remains is a roughly rectangular mound, measuring 20m N-S x 45m E-W. The external height of the bank measures a maximum of .6m.
