An Cheallúnach is a quadrant-shaped stone mound where children were buried until at least the 1840s. It measures nearly twenty metres across, rises one metre high, and wears grass like a quiet blanket. The stones still mark the edge of a place set apart for the smallest lives, preserving a boundary drawn in grief long before written records arrived.

Calluragh Burial Ground/An Cheallúnach: This appears to have been in use as a burial ground for children until at least the 1840's (OSNB Cloghane, 25). It consists of a quadrant-shaped mound which is composed mainly of stones, now grass-grown and partly obscured by vegetation. It measures a maximum of 19.9m E-W and 16m N-S and is up to c. 1m high above the external ground level. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne.
