Chetwynd Viaduct

Impressive viaduct of wrought and cast iron supported on cut limestone pillars, 'completed in 1849 for the Cork and Bandon railway' (Barry 1985,33). Barry also notes that 'there are 4 spans of 33 metres each' and that it is 'at a height of 30 metres over the main Cork to Bandon road'. Now disused since line closed in 1961.
