This blue commemorative plaque records: Built as a Chapel of Ease in 1870's by Rev Charles Cotton - used as parish church during the restoration of St Laurence's (Overton) - 1880-1882 the "Iron Church" was very popular and is now an Evangelical Chapel Recorded plaque organisation: Frodsham Heritage Economic Regeneration Scheme.

Rev Charles Cotton was a Victorian clergyman who oversaw the construction of a chapel in the 1870s, which served as a temporary parish church during the restoration of St Laurence's; the chapel, known colloquially as the "Iron Church," continues to serve as an Evangelical Chapel today.
