What is recorded here

According to Synnott (1899-1902, 455-6), 'It appears … John de Lesse granted to [the Abbey of St Thomas, Dublin] the Church of 'Fornathbeg or Little Forenaghts. … No trace of the building, or even the site of the Little Forenaghts Church, can now be found …'. Synnott footnoted, 'Since writing the above, … I have discovered what greatly resembles the south and west walls of the old church on the west of the stable-yard (of Forenaghts House); the west wall abutting on the pond. About twelve feet from the top of the west gable wall are two narrow square-headed windows.' Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 10 June 2011
