Knowth holds five ceremonial stone settings scattered across its cemetery, including a quartz-paved circle beside Tomb 4. The largest cluster surrounds Tomb 1C, marking its eastern and western entrances with deliberate grandeur. These were not random dumps but crafted stages where people gathered, performed, or remembered. Stone and quartz still hold the shape of that attention, even when later pits broke the circle open.

Four areas with stone settings were established outside the kerb of Tomb 1C, the most elaborate being outside the entrances to the E and W tombs but another is just SE of the mound. Two small related areas are adjacent to Tomb 16, and a fifth setting is associated with Tomb 4. Just 2m outside the entrance at NE to Tomb 4 a circular area paved with quartz (diam. c. 1.6m) is enclosed by 2 settings of contiguous, low stones (ext. diam. c. 2.8-3m) set upright, but all the elements only survived only E-S-W as the rest is destroyed by a later pit. This feature is conserved in situ.
