Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

Within N Half a ringfort (GA057-002----). A rectangular drystone-built Man-made underground passage (L 3.3m), running ESE-WNW, to which access is gained via an opening at ESE end. The WNW end of the passage has slightly rounded corners. It is likely that the Man-made underground passage extended further to ESE as stone-facing (L 0.66m) is visible beyond the access point, on NNE side. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
