What is recorded here
Scollan's cave may have been a hidden chamber or a forgotten legend in Moylehid, but no one now knows which. The name suggests a person lived there, hid there, or was lost there before the landscape changed. What is missing is not a small gap. It is a whole life removed from the story.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as CAVE: SCOLLAN'S CAVE (unlocated). Recorded period: UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
