Cave

Within the NE sector of a rath (GA125-125002-). This well-preserved drystone-built Man-made underground passage (L > 15.7m) consists of three chambers connected by two creeps. Access is gained through a broken roof lintel in the middle or 2nd chamber. The 1st chamber (L 6.6m; Wth 1.7m; H 1.6m) runs E-W. A creep (L 1.7m; Wth 0.7m; H0.55m) extends off its NE end and leads to the 2nd chamber (L 5.4m; Wth 1.4m; H 1.7m) which runs N-S. Another creep (L 2m; Wth 0.6m; H 0.55m) extends off its NW end and leads to the 3rd chamber which also runs E-W. This chamber is inaccessible.
