Cave is a man-made underground passage in the western half of a Galway ringfort, now reduced to a stony, nettle-filled hollow twenty-four and a half metres long. The L-shaped ditch runs east-west before turning south, preserving the ghost of a boundary or entrance that people cut into the earth generations ago.

In W half of a ringfort (GA028-036----). Marked and named 'Cave' on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map. What is visible is a stony nettle-filled L-shaped hollow (L 24.5m, Wth 3.5m) up to 1m in depth. Its long axis (L 14.5m) runs E-W, and turns sharply to S at E end, continuing on a N-S axis (L 10m).
