What is recorded here

Kilincoole cave is a man-made underground passage near the castle in County Louth, preserved in local tradition rather than formal record. People may have dug it to hide goods, escape rain or keep a secret from neighbours. Its absence from formal survey does not erase it; it suggests the work remained small, private and unchanged long enough for memory to carry it forward.
