What is recorded here

Cave is a long drystone tunnel buried inside a Galway rath, not a natural hole. Its narrow chamber still stands, but the deeper part has collapsed into a shallow depression, hiding whatever the builders placed at the far end.

In the NE quadrant of a rath (GA106-077----). This drystone-built Man-made underground passage (L >10.1m) consists of a rectangular passage (L 4.1m; Wth 1.6m; max. H 1.38m) running NE-SW. Access is gained at the SW end where a section has collapsed. A linear depression (L 6m; Wth 2.7m) extending beyond the point of access indicates that the Man-made underground passage continued further to the SW.
