What is recorded here

Castleton Hill holds a prehistoric cup marked stone in Clackmannanshire, Scotland. Someone pressed a tool into rock before written history and left a small dimple behind. The hill keeps that gesture out of sight, waiting for a person to find the stone and read the pressure in its surface.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castleton Hill as Cup Marked Stone (prehistoric). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
