Castle Campbell is a medieval castle above Dollar, Clackmannanshire, which served as the lowland seat for the earls and dukes of Argyll from the 15th to the 19th century. Originally called Castle Gloom because of the narrow gorges beside it, the property became a powerful Campbell stronghold after Colin Campbell acquired it around 1460. The family later expanded the tower into a grand residence with large south-facing windows, creating a bright contrast to its gloomy origins.
