Castlesteads is a prehistoric pit alignment in East Lothian, Scotland. It is not the Roman fort Camboglanna in Cumbria, although that name still appears in some accounts. The pits mark an old boundary, ritual line or travel route now hidden beneath grass and memory. To walk past it is to brush against a choice made by people who left no warning behind.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castlesteads as Pit Alignment (prehistoric). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
