Castlerock and Downhill Sea Cave was formed by wave action eroding the basalt cliffs along the north coast. The cave is located near historical and archaeological sites associated with the ancient kingdom of Dál nAraidi.

This is a dangerous tidal cave. Two children had to be rescued from it after the tide cut them off. Do not approach without checking the tide and local safety advice.
