Castlehaven is an Iron Age promontory fort in Highland, Scotland, where a D-shaped enclosure still sits behind ditches and a turf-covered mound. The sea did most of the guarding, but people added ditches on the land side, suggesting the place was held, used and remembered rather than merely passed. Two sandstone blocks and faint ditch lines leave enough behind for imagination: a small community, a lookout, a boundary marker, or a home that trusted the coastline to finish its defences.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castlehaven as Promontory Fort (iron Age). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
