West Lock, Lock 19 at Castlecary Mill Farm, still marks the Forth and Clyde Canal in Falkirk. Built after Medieval times, it served the canal’s steady trade rather than private spectacle. The exact position survives in the public record, but entry remains unproven. The water gate may have opened for barges, locks and local life, while the farm beside it continued its own work.
