Castle is one of two castles owned by Robert Ryce in a 1584 survey, yet it has no known location. It may be buried under Tralee, hidden behind a wall or lost entirely. Robert Ryce could have lived there, traded there or simply claimed it for power. The castle still resists identification, which is the strangest part.

This record refers to the castle listed in a survey of 1584 as one of two castles belonging to Robert Ryce (the other being possibly Short Castle (KE029-119026-)). Its precise location is not known.
