What is recorded here
Castle, unclassified in Skehanagh, County Laois, appears only as an unlocated mark on the Down Survey map of 1654-7. Whether it was a hall, a tower or a ruined castle cannot be known from the name alone. The survey treated it as real enough to record, yet withheld the detail that would let it be seen again.
Unlocated castle within townland that is indicated on Down Survey (1654-7) map (NLI, MS 720).
