Castle, unclassified in Rahin, County Laois, Ireland. A castle stood near the old church of Ballylynan or the town of the spears, belonging to the O'Mores. It appeared on a 1704 map with six cabbins, an orchard and a church, but no longer exists.
Unlocated castle within townland, described by O'Byrne in The History of the Queens County as 'Formerly a castle stood near the old church of Ballylynan or the town of the spears, which castle is said to belong to the O'Mores' (O'Byrne 1856, 65). Castle indicated on 1704 manuscript map that shows 6 cabbins, 1 castle, orchard and 1 church (NLI, MS 16M.9 (19)) (Feehan 1983, 378-9).
