Narraghmore Demesne in County Kildare may be the hidden site of Norragh, built by Hugh de Lacy for Robert son of Richard, because that name and this much of the story match. If so, the land keeps a castle that never showed itself, and the burning by Philip de Stanton in 1286 becomes a wound still buried beneath grass and memory.

Fitzgerald (1912-14, 243), quoting Giraldus Cambrensis, records that Hugh de Lacy, Justiciar of Ireland, built a castle at 'Norrach' for Robert son of Richard, and that later ‘Le Norragh’ was burnt by Philip de Stanton on 16 November 1286. Hugh de Lacy, Justiciar of Ireland, built the castle at Norrach (Narraghmore) in the late 12th or early 13th century for Robert son of Richard. It is remembered for its mention in Giraldus Cambrensis's writings and for being later attacked and burnt by Philip de Stanton, reflecting the turbulent feudal conflicts of the period.
